If you are new to HealthEngine and you are searching for your practice for the first time, you may have found it difficult to pick your regular GP.

Finding your GP depends on which platform you use HealthEngine. This article focuses on both the Website and the HealthEngine App.

1. Finding a GP on the HealthEngine Website.

• The search starts with typing in what you know (e.g. GP in Stratton)

• HealthEngine will then take you to a list of all the GP practices located in that area with appointments available today. (Please note you can change the filters at the top to search for appointments on alternative dates, or specific consultation types.) 

• Once you have found your preferred GP simply click on the practice name: 

• To select a practitioner, you need to go to the practice profile page. It is at this point you would need to refer to the drop down menu; which once opened will give a list of practitioners available at the chosen practice.  

(Note: Your practice may only publish their appointments via their availability, in which case there is no option to select which doctor you would like to see - instead, you will automatically be assigned to whichever doctor is free at the time that you select for your appointment.)

• Availability will change depending on which Practitioner is chosen:

E.g.

• Once you have selected a Practitioner and chosen your best time, you will be directed to the final stages of the booking process.
• At this stage you will be required to simply follow the prompts in filling in your details.

 NOTE: Your booking will NOT be finalised until you have received the 4 digit verification code to your mobile device and have entered into the system. Once this has been completed you will receive a confirmation email outlining your appointment details.

Some practices may use a button instead of appointment times. If you see this button it means that after you complete the booking form, the practice will call you to arrange your appointment time. 

2. Finding a GP on the HealthEngine App.

• The search begins with clicking on the ‘Find + Book’ tab located on the bottom of the main homepage screen:

• You will then need to click the search icon in the top left corner

• This will then bring up the option to ‘Search for a practice…’ or alternatively ‘Search for a practitioner…’ (following steps apply to either option)

• Choose your practice (or practitioner.)

• You will then be directed to the page where you can see available appointments for the practice for the day,
• Pick the time you would like and continue the booking process.

• To choose your practitioner click the Book Now Tab.

• From here, you choose your practitioner.

• Once a practitioner and time has been selected, you will be prompted to continue the booking by filling in your details.

NOTE: Your booking will NOT be finalised until you have received the 4 digit verification code to your mobile device and have entered into the system. Once this has been completed you will receive a confirmation email outlining your appointment details.
