About the COVID-19 Booking Form Triage Questions Follow

On the booking form, we now ask patients various questions to assess their:

  • Risk of having COVID-19
  • Vulnerability to COVID-19
  • Eligibility for a Medicare refund for a telehealth (phone/video) consultation.

This is to help us direct the patient to make their booking appropriately in terms of:

  • Making a regular booking, versus a telehealth booking, versus calling the practice to discuss their appointment; and
  • Making a privately-billed telehealth booking versus a bulk-billed telehealth booking. 

Which questions a patient sees within the booking form will depend on their response/s to the previous question/s and the configuration of the practice they are booking with.

To help you handle each patient’s appointment according to your individual requirements, we have added patients’ responses to these questions into the details of their booking within Practice Admin (Practice Admin > ‘Bookings’ > ‘Online Bookings’).

An explanation of how a patients’ responses appear in their booking details in Practice Admin is described below.

 

High COVID-19 risk

“Yes” - Shows if the patient responds ‘Yes’ to the question that assesses their COVID-19 risk. Indicates that the patient is at high risk of having COVID-19.

“No” - Shows if the patient responds ‘No’ to the question that assesses their COVID-19 risk.Indicates that the patient is not at a high risk of having COVID-19.

Vulnerable patient

“Yes” - Shows if the patient responds ‘Yes’ to the question assessing their vulnerability to COVID-19. Indicates that the patient is vulnerable to contracting COVID-19.

“No” - Shows if the patient responds ‘No’ to the question assessing their vulnerability to COVID-19. Indicates that the patient is not vulnerable to contracting COVID-19.

“-” - Shows if the patient was not asked the question assessing their vulnerability to COVID-19. This question is not asked if the patient responds ‘Yes’ to the question assessing their COVID-19 risk.

The patients’ response to the Medicare eligibility question is not displayed in the Bookings table as this question was included in the booking form to determine which appointment types should be displayed to the patient in terms of telehealth versus in-person appointment types and bulk-billed versus privately-billed telehealth appointment types.
