Benefits of the MMex Integration

The Healthengine integration with MMex offers several advantages for your practice:

Automatic Availability Publishing

  • Your appointment availability is read directly from MMex calendars
  • No manual updating required – changes in MMex appear on Healthengine automatically
  • Publish availability up to 200 days in advance

Seamless Booking Management

  • Online bookings appear directly in your MMex calendar
  • Patient details are automatically added to MMex
  • Reduce administrative workload with 24/7 online booking capability

Recent Feature Updates

As of late 2024, the MMex integration now supports:

  • Medicare card details syncing to patient records
  • Telehealth appointment links appearing in MMex appointments

How the Integration Works

Integration Type

MMex uses a cloud-based PMS API integration, meaning the integration is built by MMex and connects directly to Healthengine's systems without requiring on-premise software installation.

What Syncs to MMex

When a patient books online through Healthengine:

  • Patient name and contact details
  • Appointment date, time and type
  • Medicare card information (if collected)
  • Telehealth video link (for telehealth appointments)

Please Note: The integration writes bookings to your MMex calendar but does not currently sync custom form or new patient form data directly into patient records.

Setting Up the Integration

Before You Begin

Ensure you have completed the following in MMex:

  1. Configure Your Calendars in Organisation Centre > Calendar Management
    • Create calendars for practitioners
    • Make calendars visible to Healthengine
    • Set calendar availability for external bookings
    • Define your external publish count
  2. Set Appointment Availability (working hours)
    • Configure work hours for each calendar
    • Set appointment durations
  3. Define the appointment types that you want to offer online
  4. Set Publishing Limits under Edit Configuration to ensure availability publishes correctly (recommend 90 days)

Troubleshooting

No Availability Showing on Healthengine

Check the following:

  • Calendars are set to be visible for Healthengine in MMex
  • Calendar availability for external bookings is activated
  • Publishing limit is set correctly in MMex (check Edit Configuration settings)
  • External publish count is configured for each practitioner's calendar

Bookings Not Appearing in MMex

  • Verify the integration connection is active in Organisation Centre > Calendar Management
  • Check that the correct Practice ID is entered
  • Ensure your MMex user has the necessary permissions

Calendar Showing Incorrect Times

  • Review your appointment availability (working hours) settings in each calendar
  • Confirm appointment durations are set correctly
  • Check that appointment types are properly defined

Medicare or Telehealth Details Not Syncing

These features require MMex to be running a recent version (late 2024 or newer). If these details are not appearing:

  • Contact MMex support to confirm you are running the latest version
  • Verify the features are enabled in your MMex system
