Why is a mobile phone number required to make a booking?
In order to register an account with HealthEngine, you need to provide a mobile number.
This is to make sure you receive important information, as well as some practices may require verification codes to confirm bookings made via our online booking service.
IMPORTANT: You must have a mobile number to book an appointment using our services.
Verification codes are short, four-digit codes that are sent to your mobile by SMS after you’ve requested a booking.
There are several reasons that HealthEngine uses verification codes to confirm bookings, and why we send them only by SMS.
These include:
- SMS is the fastest and most secure portal by which to send the code
- Avoids accidental bookings
- Preventing ‘bots’ from spamming fake appointments, which enhances system security.
